Population Connection

Apalachicola National Estuarine Research Reserve
Apalachicola Bay is one of the most productive estuarine systems in the Northern Hemisphere. The reserve protects the region's biological diversity, as well as the economic value of the natural resources and pristine conditions.

Brooker Creek Preserve
"Our Wildest Place." Brooker Creek Preserve is an 8,500 acre wilderness area located in the northeastern corner of Pinellas County. The newly opened Environmental Education Center features 22 discovery-oriented experiences revolving around natural Florida and local history.
Guana Tolomato Matanzas National Estuarine Research Reserve
This reserve encompasses approximately 55,000 acres of salt marsh and mangrove tidal wetlands, oyster bars, estuarine lagoons, upland habitat, and offshore seas in northeast Florida. It contains the northernmost extent of mangrove habitat on the east coast of the United States.
Weedon Island Preserve
Weedon Island Preserve is an expansive 3,000 acre preserve that extends along the west side of Tampa Bay. It is the largest estuarine preserve in Pinellas County and is comprised of a wide range of aquatic habitats and upland communities.
